Wilson Central High school is one of the newer schools in the area and recently received the high school of the year design award from the Tennessee school Board Association. Wilson central currently has just over 1600 students and services grades 9-12. Currently an estimated 80% of the students at Wilson Central High school pursue further education. Wilson central offers a host of extracurricular activities that range from football,baseball and basketball to the philosophy club, ROTC, and NASA Earth crew. The current student teacher ratio is approximately 29 to 1.
